The Finca is a hundred-year-old farmhouse with a typical Andalusian look; thick walls and small windows. After a twenty-minute drive from the airport, you leave behind the friendly but bustling city of M\u00e1laga. The motorway turns into a winding road up the mountain. First, you still have beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea then the mountains take over the vistas. The road turns into a wide dirt track and at more than five hundred metres, you look out over the patchwork of the Andalusian interior with whitewashed villages that seem stuck halfway up the mountainside, olive and almond trees and, in the distance, the karst mountains of El Torcal.<\/p>\n

When you get off at Finca Las Nuevas you can hear birds chirping, crickets chirping or just a moment of absolute silence. There is a serenity that many a person craves coming from a hectic life. The old era, just off the driveway, is a reminder of when grain was grown in this area. At this round place, the grain was dried.
