The Sierra de las Nieves has officially been a national park since 2021 and is one of the most remarkable natural areas in Spain.<\/p>\n
The park stretches between Ronda, Tolox, Yunquera, and Ist\u00e1n and is known for its rugged mountain landscapes, deep valleys, breathtaking views, and unique flora and fauna.<\/p>\n
The name Sierra de las Nieves literally means \u201cSnow Mountains.\u201d In winter, the highest peaks are regularly covered with snow. From Finca Las Nuevas, you can often see these snow-capped mountain tops in the distance. The highest peak, La Torrecilla, reaches almost 2,000 metres in altitude. <\/p>\n

This authentic Andalusian village is known for its historic spa, the Balneario de Tolox. For generations, people have visited Tolox because of its mineral-rich spring water. In particular, people suffering from asthma, bronchitis, and other respiratory conditions come here to inhale the water and vapours from the natural springs. Don’t expect a luxurious spa experience with massages, however; the focus here is on the therapeutic properties of the springs. <\/p>\n Several hiking trails into the Sierra de las Nieves start from the Balneario. The natural surroundings of Tolox are very different from the landscape around Finca Las Nuevas. <\/p>\n Thanks to its unique microclimate, a surprising variety of subtropical plants and trees grow here.<\/p>\n One of the nicest hikes near Tolox is a relatively short route leading to a waterfall. Along the way, you walk through a green valley and eventually reach a small waterfall with a natural pool. <\/p>\n When there is enough water, you can even take a refreshing swim here. This hike is not too demanding, making it suitable for families with children as well.
