Markets in Andalusia are always fun to visit during your holidays. It gives a good impression of local life and often you can find delicious products from the region. In this blog, we provide an overview of where and when there are markets in Andalusia in the province of Malaga.<\/strong><\/div>\n

Markets in Andalusia<\/strong><\/h2>\n
Nearly every village has a market. Some are a bit bigger than others. And sometimes it is very nice and sometimes it is not what you imagined. We don’t know all the markets, so we can’t tell you whether they are all worth visiting. But combined with a stroll around the village or having a drink on the terrace, you will still have a fun activity.<\/div>\n

This is a small fruit and vegetable market with some clothing stalls. It is nice to combine a visit to the market with a drink in the main square in the village. It is pleasantly busy there in the morning with Spaniards chatting loudly.<\/div>\n

We always call this market the pants market. The name market often suggests a bit more than what this is. There are around \u00a05 stalls with lots of pants, pyjamas, towels bags and caps. It’s not much more than this.<\/p>\n

Covered markets<\/strong><\/h2>\n
There are several covered markets in the city of M\u00e1laga. We think the most famous and also nice market to visit is Mercado Central de Atarazanas. But there are many other small covered markets on the outskirts of M\u00e1laga.<\/div>\n

Mercado Central de Atarazanas<\/strong><\/h3>\n
This colourful market is located in the centre of M\u00e1laga and is divided into a separate meat\/fish section and a section with vegetables, fruit, nuts, herbs and olives.<\/div>\n
Highly recommended to walk through, taste some olives, which you will actually want to buy afterwards, and maybe have a tapa.<\/div>\n

Mercadillo de La Cala de Mijas.<\/strong><\/h4>\n
Cosy market with a few fruit and vegetable stalls, but mainly clothes, bags, brightly coloured pottery, jewellery, scarves and more. There is a large car park next to it and from there you can walk to La Cala de Mijas beach in 5 minutes. Here, if you want, you can walk all the way to Marbella via a boardwalk. Very nice in our opinion. The beach here is a bit smaller than, say, Torremolinos.<\/div>\n
