In this case, they are Pablo, Diego, Jos\u00e9, Francisco de Paula, Juan Nepomuceno, Mar\u00eda de los Remedios and Cipriano de la Sant\u00edsima Trinidad.<br \/>\nHe received the surname Ruiz from his father and Picasso from his mother. This building is the former headquarters of the San Juan de Dios Seminary, the Convent of the Augustinian Fathers and the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of M\u00e1laga.<\/p>\n<p>Picasso knew this building because his father had worked there since 1879 as a curator of the paintings that the town hall exhibited to the public at that time. It is one of the most important works of art of the 20th century. The painting is approximately 3.5 meters high and 7.8 meters wide and depicts the horrors of the Spanish Civil War.<\/p>\n<p>Although this painting is not on display in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museopicassomalaga.org\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Picasso museum<\/a> in M\u00e1laga, you can admire many other beautiful works by Picasso here. The church is not far from Plaza de la Merced and Picasso&#8217;s birthplace. The church has a baroque interior and when you are outside, you should take a look at the Mudejar tower.<br \/>\nThe parish of this church is one of the oldest in M\u00e1laga. His paternal grandparents also married here in 1820 and his parents in 1880. Today, this building is still in use as a Bustamante pharmacy. This is the place where Picasso&#8217;s father regularly met his friends.<\/p>\n<p>He was also here on Christmas Day in 1884, when an earthquake destroyed the city. If you are in M\u00e1laga, you can visit the birthplace of Pablo Picasso. The stately building is located on the Plaza de la Merced and is now a museum. She was the model for one of his youthful drawings.<\/p>\n<p>Later in life, Pablo Picasso told his biographers that he had many memories of this school. He told how he spent hours drawing and looking through the window, how he would escape, how he took his father&#8217;s personal belongings (a brush, a walking stick, a feather) to school as a guarantee that they would pick him up in the afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>The building cannot be visited from the inside.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The meeting place for artists<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>On the Plaza de San Francisco, in the same location where the Mar\u00eda Cristina Conservatory is today, it was a meeting place for artists from M\u00e1laga in the 19th century. Built on part of the old convent of San Francisco, which takes its name from the small square with the Pomona fountain (1864).<\/p>\n<p>Picasso regularly attended meetings here with his father. Pablo Picasso first came into contact with the classical plaster models, which he copied a few years later, in La Coru\u00f1a and Barcelona, as a compulsory subject for his studies.<br \/>\nThe group of painters who walked the corridors of the school were also teachers and friends of Jos\u00e9 Ruiz Blasco, the father of Pablo Picasso.<\/p>\n<p>Many of them were for the young Picasso, a clear example of his later works. Like Bernardo Ferr\u00e1ndiz, Mu\u00f1oz Degrain, Mart\u00ednez de la Vega and Moreno Carbonero. They made art in the last part of the 19th century. This is M\u00e1laga&#8217;s Golden Age when it comes to painting. Pablo Picasso benefited from seeing the great historical scenes first-hand.<br \/>\nCurrently, the building is the headquarters of the Ateneo de M\u00e1laga.
